Le Baron Ranch

During the period of 1900 to 1929, the LeBaron family owned and operated a family winery in Dry Creek Valley.  During his lifetime Oscar LeBaron enjoyed public notoriety for his innovative and colorful approach to county life.  In 1983 my family purchased a ranch from the LeBarons and started our own family winery.   We created LeBaron Ranch wines to celebrate the rich history of Dry Creek Valley and to honor the LeBaron family.

Low alcohol showcases the really pretty fruit even more.  Interesting combination of new and neutral oak barrels. Le Baron Ranch "Hop Station" Chardonnay

100% Alexander Valley

Winemaker Notes:  A blockbuster Chardonnay on all fronts.  Fabulous grapes from the Alexander Valley floor, left to linger in the late summer sun.  Fermented entirely in Stainless Steel and then barrel aged for 9 months, where the wine underwent a partial secondary fermentation.  19% new French and American oak barrels.  A true Chardonnay-lovers delight, the wine is very well balanced, with a pleasing citrus acidity that nicely complements the buttery, toasted oak.  Creamy vanilla and crisp pear flavors intermingle on the pallate.  Long and luscious, yet finishes light and bright.  This will make a great summer wine all by itself and also quite versatile with many food pairings.
