2012 Syrah Sonoma County
Syrah grapes have been determined to have originated from the Rhone Valley of France. They have also found a similar temperate home here in California where the vines are cooled by the Pacific ocean. This is a variety that does particularly well on the slopes of Alexander Valley and Sonoma Valley, and lately is finding a perfect home in the warmer stretches of Russian River Valley. Here grape growers are discovering new and exciting aspects to this variety’s ever-changing personality. This wine comes from the western, warmer edge of the Russian River Valley.
Contains a signature purple black color. The brambly blackberry aromas lead into some subtle black plum with a sprinkling of dusty cinnamon. The velvety tannin structure adds a level of balance and texture to this stylish Syrah. The finish is still bursting with black summer fruits throughout its long course. The 707 Syrah is will make a lasting impression.
