2014 Chardonnay Sonoma County
This immensely aromatic Chardonnay comes from the Sonoma County Appellation of Northern California. The cooling fog and river influences are simply a paradise for Chardonnay grapes, prepping each year for the extended growing season. This long, slow maturation process is displayed nicely in the 707 Chardonnay’s intense fruit and full body structure.
The 707 Chardonnay is a pretty golden-yellow color. The aromas are reminiscent of tuberose blossoms, pineapples and lemons. The layered flavors are rich and silky, with intricate textures similar to lemon chiffon pie and baked pears. The wine is has a well-balanced acidity that makes the flavors bright and lively. The finish is warm and long with some stone fruits present such as green apples and apricots.
Our food pairing suggestions would include: lobster risotto, watercress and crab salad, broccoli chicken fettuccini or a pumpkin ravioli bisque.
